Last week, following an evening of celebration, we successfully came home with two awards from this year’s UK Agency Awards. The first award went to Micarla Joseph, our Senior Manager – Buying, whose hard work over the last 6 years earnt her the Rising Agency Star Award. The second award was for Media Agency of the Year, celebrating all the work we’ve done in the past year, giving us our fifth Agency of the Year award win in a row.
The UK Agency Awards reward exceptional agencies, campaigns, and talent. The 2019 judging panel featured leading in-house professionals in marketing, communications, advertising, and digital from some of the UK’s biggest and best brands. The UK Agency Awards are one of the few awards schemes that are judged solely by in-house judges.
Our success in the Media Agency of the Year category was in recognition of the work we’ve done over the last 12 months but also everything we’ve achieved in the past decade. Changes in the demands of consumers and clients has transformed what we deliver and in 2018 we took the necessary step to better represent that by changing our name to M&C Saatchi Performance. Since then, we have diversified our offering, taken on new disruptive clients, and continued to impact the shape of the industry.
Having started in 2006, there have been many who have joined us on our journey – one of them being Micarla Joseph. Micarla joined the agency at just 18, foregoing the more traditional path of others, and undertaking an apprenticeship on the media team. Since then, Micarla has risen to Senior Manager on the Buying team – managing a team of 9, across 14 accounts, in 20 markets. With an unrivalled knowledge of ad fraud, Micarla has driven changes not just in the agency but in the industry as a whole, all at the age of 25.
