Since Google announced its imminent augmented reality Goggles, the world of AR has almost been put on hold. But it’s very much, the calm before the storm.
Now there’s a new kid on the block, and we think things are about to start hotting up. Tech firm Epson have joined forces with a startup called Meta and developed their own Epson Movario Glasses, which come complete with a 3D camera for full 3D interfacing. They are laying down the gauntlet to developers everywhere, encouraging them to build apps for the hi-tech devices – and their promotional video is pretty compelling.
Augmented reality via glasses are, in the more immediate term, nearly certain to be a game changer in certain professional industries. And ultimately, we believe many consumer and leisure activities will benefit from a whole new wave of AR business and consumer apps…
